The Hypocrisy Is the Point

You can’t be pro-life and pro-gun and then act surprised when I write a song about it. These positions aren’t in tension. They’re designed.

I’m not interested in debate. I’m interested in naming what I see. And what I see is a political position that says life is sacred until it’s inconvenient, until it’s in a school, until it’s already born and needing health care, housing, food, love.

The Song Writes Itself

I didn’t have to be clever with “Pro-Life, Pro-Gun.” The title is the argument. The contradiction is so loud it’s almost a confession. almost.

People told me the song was going to get me in trouble. Good. That’s what it’s for. Music that doesn’t risk anything isn’t saying anything and if a three-minute rock song makes someone uncomfortable enough to stop listening, that discomfort is information.

Thoughts and prayers is not policy. It’s a press release. I don’t write press releases, I write songs. This one says what I think. If you disagree, you have the internet. use it.
